Quilting Progress

Inspite of all the excitment of playing in the snow, Candace and I (with some help from Cassie) managed to put two of the six big blocks together. I never would have picked orange, but I really like the way this looks. I think the red blocks set it off, don't you? It will be a cheerful quilt for sure. The cat faces aren't my own creation. I found them on the web and then drew my own pattern.
I'll keep everyone posted on our progress.

I'll confess that the blue and white quilt came from Walmart. :-(

Let's see...the last time it snowed here was....

January, 2002! That's why the mere mention of snow in the forcast brings shivers of hopeful anticipation from young and old alike. Imagine the thrill of victory for us poor Southerners when snowflakes actually fell from the sky! (I realize that all my Northern Blogging friends are thinking "What's the big deal?" But in Florence, MS it was a virtual blizzard.) My girls and I went walking in our winter wonderland this morning. I thought I'd share it with you....

I'm sorry to say that all the snow had melted by the time I posted this. :-( But it was a great morning!

New Quilting Project

When my soon to be 13 year old was about 3, I (with help from my mother) made her a quilt. She loves that quilt. It even went with us overseas for two years. Needless to say, that quilt is a little faded. DD 12 wants a new one.

Here are the colors she picked out.

I plan to post updates. Perhaps it will keep me motivated. :-)
I started some embroidery today. (Cat faces) Candace practiced sewing seams. This is supposed to be OUR project. We shall see.
